Arsenal offer to pay off Mesut Ozil £18million to free up cash for club transfers this summer

Arsenal are able to pull out all the stops to eventually end their contract nightmare for the Mesut Ozil £18million.

Ozil has a year left on his new contract at the club, which sees him at £350,000-per-week pocket wages, but after the restart of the season he didn’t feature at any point.
He was in Turkey earlier this month, when Arsenal won their 14th FA Cup triumph.

The German seems ready to sit tight to see the balance of his contract, but the Mirror claims that the club needs to come to an arrangement and put an end to this saga.

Arsenal is looking to shake the squad with Chelsea forward Willian set to sign this summer while club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose contract will also expire in June 2021, has been offered a new deal to remain.
They are also reportedly seeking to unload midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ defender, as well as Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who was spending the season on Roma loans.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles was linked to a surprise transfer to north London rivals Tottenham while the future of Sead Kolasinac looks unclear.
Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey, like Wantaway Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, has been closely linked with a move to the club.

However, money at Arsenal is obviously tight with the club announcing 55 redundancies last week as they try to reduce the wage bill.

There are no apparent takers for Ozil, with Turkish clubs not being able to afford the wage he want.
