Arsenal ‘prepared to sell’ 27 y/o goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez for less than £10m

Arsenal are prepared to sell goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in the summer transfer window, according to reports from The Athletic.

The 27-year-old has been with Arsenal for a decade now but in the coming weeks he is expected to leave.

During Project Restart he shone in Bernd Leno ‘s absence and expressed his willingness to continue starting regularly, whether at Arsenal or elsewhere.

The Gunners regard Leno as their first choice though. Once again, the German is fit to resume his duties leaving Arsenal with no choice but allowing Martinez to depart.

Martinez has two years left to make his new contract worth £20,000 a week. His advisors have been searching for some time to renegotiate his terms, but negotiations were postponed due to a variety of reasons.

Arsenal will be forced to pay him a bonus should he leave the club.

Arsenal originally priced him at about £ 20 million. However, they ‘re likely to accept lower deals in the current economic situation.

The report claims that if necessary, Arsenal could sell him for a transfer fee of under £ 10 million.

Clubs in England and Spain are closely watching the situation of Martinez but no formal offers have been given as of now.

If Martinez leaves the club Arsenal will search for a new goalkeeper.
