Bale is back to Tottenham! Spurs confirm deal

Bale’s return to Tottenham means Jose Mourinho, the manager of Spurs, finally gets his hands on a player he’s tried to sign twice in the past, first as manager of Real Madrid and then again at Manchester United.

And the entry of the forward into Mourinho’s Spurs squad could not be more timely as they labored in their campaign opening games.

In a 1-0 Premier League loss to Everton, they were completely devoid of any attacking threat before needing two goals in the final 10 minutes to defeat Lokomotiv Plovdiv 2-1 in the Europa League qualification.

A statement on Tottenham’s website said they anticipate that Bale, who will wear the number nine shirt, “will be match fit after October’s international break” having sustained a knee injury while on international duty earlier this month.
