Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara ‘agrees four-year deal’ with Liverpool

Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has agreed to join Liverpool on a four-year deal, reports say.

Jurgen Klopp is in the middle of the park on search for reinforcements and the Spaniard has been on his radar for several months.

Personal terms were agreed between the Reds and Thiago according to RMC Sport, with the 29-year-old set to sign an agreement to keep him in Anfield until 2024.

It is understood that he told his teammates that he was moving to Liverpool and even found a Merseyside house ahead of his proposed switch.

In the summer of 2013, Spain International, who came from their famous La Masia academy through the ranks at Barcelona, joined Bayern.

“As a person and as an athlete, I can understand him,” Flick told Sport Bild. “Thiago played for Barcelona, and seven years for Bayern.

“Now he wants a new challenge, which in my opinion must be the Premier League.”

In his seven years at the Allianz Arena, Thiago has made his name one of the best midfielders in Germany, netting 31 goals in 233 games for the Bundesliga champions in all competitions.

And Bayern boss Hansi Flick has admitted that he understands why Thiago wants his career changed.
