Chelsea vs Brighton: Blues Line up confirmed

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard must determine whether to start Willy Caballero or Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal against Brighton, with negotiations continuing over a deal to sign Edouard Mendy from Rennes.

Caballero got the nod for last season’s final game over Arrizabalaga and the FA Cup Final and it seems more likely the Argentinian veteran will participate.
Without a new trio, Chelsea will be at the Amex, without Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell.
Since moving to London Silva has been in quarantine and was only expected to train with Chelsea this weekend for the first time.

Ziyech will miss the start of the season with the knee injury that he sustained in a Brighton friendly while Chilwell is still recovering from a heel problem.
After the hamstring injury he sustained in the FA Cup Final, Christian Pulisic returned to training on Wednesday but he may not be threatened.

Also on Wednesday Cesar Azpilicueta began training again so Monday could come too soon for him. Mateo Kovacic is under detention.

Chelsea XI to play Brighton (4-3-3): Caballero; James, Zouma, Rudiger, Alonso; Loftus-Cheek, Kante, Mount; Havertz, Werner, Hudson-Odoi
