Cristiano Ronaldo would have made Madrid favourites against Man City – Adebayor

According to Emmanuel Adebayor, Cristiano Ronaldo would have made Real Madrid favorites overcome a first-leg deficit in their tie in the Champions League against Manchester City.

Los Blancos lost 2-1 in the first leg of the last-16 clash at the Santiago Bernabeu in the back end of February, with the return game postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, Madrid was outstanding as LaLiga resumed in June, winning 10 and drawing their final game on the way to beating Barcelona to the championship, their first since the season 2016-17.

Former City and Madrid striker Adebayor says the side of Zinedine Zidane still has the players capable of turning the tie around, but Ronaldo ‘s presence – who won the Champions League four times with the Spanish club before departing for Juventus in 2018 – would have increased their chances significantly.
