Fulham looking to sign versatile defender Sessegnon despite Barcelona’s interest

According to the BBC, Fulham is keen in getting the left-back Ryan Sessegnon from Tottenham Hotspur back to Craven Cottage, but they will have to settle for a loan deal to get a chance to catch the 20-year-old.

The England youth international joined Spurs last summer for £ 25 million but were dealing with injuries and manager Jose Mourinho did not believe them.

Barcelona is also keen on Sessegnon as his ability to play in offense as well and his immense potential has attracted their eye.

Nonetheless, the youngster needs to play enough and get a chance to play in the European Championship next summer and he’d be open to a move to Fulham.

Since defeating Brentford 2-1 in the final of the Championship playoffs, the Cottagers sealed an automatic return to the Premier League, and getting their former hero back would greatly improve their hopes of survival next season.

Sessegnon netted 16 league goals and helped another eight two years ago, helping Fulham return to the top flight and emerging as the Season’s Championship Star.

Although the following season he scored only two goals and recorded six assists in 35 EPL games, Spurs were able to take the punt on him.
