Gary Neville compares Emile Smith Rowe to Arsenal Legend Pires after winning Newcastle 3-0

Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe has been praised by Gary Neville, likening him to Arsenal hero Robert Pires.
In a below-par campaign for the Gunners, Smith Rowe has been a shining star. Arsenal have won 13 points from five league games since the youngster came into the first team, having failed to win any of the previous seven outings.
And in this turnaround, Emile has had a huge hand. As well as bagging against the latter in the FA Cup, he has recorded assists against Chelsea, West Brom, and Newcastle United.
Since coming into the first team, former Man United right-back Gary Neville has praised his contribution to Arsenal, comparing his dribbling style to Robert Pires.

Monday night, Arsenal trashed Newcastle United in a 3-0 well deserved win taking them up on the Premier League table.

Neville said: “He (Smith Rowe) doesn’t run with the ball, he glides with it, and he’s always at a point where you feel like he can release it.

“A lot of young players, they run with it, then they have to stop, look up, and the moment’s gone. He’s not, he’s connected, he’s switched on, he’s clever. Arsene Wenger had brilliant players who travelled with the ball, like Robert Pires and others who travelled with the ball brilliantly and were so clever. He could have played in those teams.”
