Leeds United wants Luiz Felipe, to bid £27m for the Lazio defender

Leeds are reportedly preparing to make a offer for Luiz Felipe, the Lazio defender.

The Whites are watching the 23-year-old Brazilian center-back as Marcelo Bielsa tries to improve his squad ahead of Leeds’ first Premier League campaign in 16 years, according to Italian media reports.

Top center-back goal Ben White, who was on loan at Elland Road last season, was labeled by Brighton as ‘not for sale,’ so Bielsa was forced to find alternative defensive targets.

And La Lazio Siamo Noi say Felipe emerged as the newest choice for Leeds – with the defender’s talks ‘accelerating in the last couple of hours.’

The Italians are reluctant to sell Felipe this summer but if this asking price is met, Chairman Claudio Lotito is prepared to cash in.

Given his youth, Felipe is highly regarded with more than 100 career appearances to his credit, and he was also previously linked to Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.
