As the Reds aim to bring in a second centre-back before the January transfer window closes, Schalke star Ozan Kabak is a priority for Liverpool, with Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car also a possibility.
According to Goal, £ 2 million contract for Preston defender Ben Davies has already been wrapped up by Liverpool, with the 25-year-old having undergone a medical at Anfield on Monday morning.
In the middle of an injury crisis that has caused the German to shuffle his pack during the Reds’ defense of the Premier League title, Davies will provide Jurgen Klopp with extra cover at the back.
Kabak could make his way on loan to Anfield before the end of the january window, with a buying clause expected to be included in the deal.
In an otherwise awful Bundesliga campaign for Schalke, appearing in 14 games in all, the 20-year-old, who has been regularly linked with the Reds over the past few months, has been one of the few light sparks.
In 2019, the Turkish international progressed to the first team at Veltins-Arena and has since pinned down a regular spot in the team, gaining interest in the process from a variety of clubs around Europe.
