Man City complete Torres and Ake transfers but want FOUR more signings before start of new Premier League season

Manchester City is targeting a major summer with four more signatures signed up despite introducing the Etihad with two new stars.

Ferran Torres, the midfielder, was signed in a £20.8million contract from Valencia earlier this week, before Nathan Ake ‘s £ 41 m Bournemouth move was reported on Wednesday evening.

Pep Guardiola gets his business done fast, but he’s done nowhere close because Sky Sports say the Catalan needs as many as FOUR more hires before next season begins.

The article adds that defensemen are the focus with Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly a main choice – with Ake, who can play in the center-half and left-back, already being brought in.

In the meantime, Guardiola is still searching at more replacements on the pitch; Lautaro Martinez is deemed a long-term substitute at Sergio Aguero, while Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix has also been linked with an Etihad move.

Vincent Kompany left the Etihad last summer and was never properly replaced, leading to a shaky season for Guardiola’s backline which resulted in City conceding the Premier League title to Liverpool after two successive top-flight victories.

City do not want a repeat of this runners-up finish next season so they are going all out this summer to fix the issues in Guardiola’s squad ahead of the start of the new campaign.
