Tottenham is thought to be interested in signing the Troy Deeney striker from Watford.
After a poor season the Hornets have been relegated to the Championship and it will be interesting to see if Deeney decides to move on.
Jose Mourinho is keen on the striker, he wants Deeney as a backup for Harry Kane. When it comes to their goal scoring team, spurs are lacking in depth and Deeney wouldn’t be a poor addition.
The 32-year-old has plenty of experience in the Premier League (163 appearances) and he has also shown his consistency with Watford. He will be contributing goals and energy to the attack on Spurs. He ‘s got ten goals this season to his credit.
Deeney is excellent at keeping up the ball and he is also a hazard in the breeze. Jose Mourinho ‘s arrival would allow him to turn to a more direct approach when required. It would give him a tactical plan B which is much needed.
The article suggests that Tottenham has talked of an potential loan deal with Watford. The player, however, has only one year left on his deal and this year Hornets may not be keen to loan him.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the two clubs can now agree on a reasonable fee for the player.
