West Ham United in pursuit for Burnley defender James Tarkowski

According to The Times, West Ham United is interested in signing James Tarkowski of Premier League rivals Burnley in the summer transfer window. The Hammers have reportedly made a £22 million bid for the defender.
But Burnley wants as much as £ 50 million as transfer fee for Tarkowski, according to the article. With the Clarets being an established Premier League club they don’t need to sell the defender if they don’t get what they want.

Tarkowski has been at Burnley since 2016, and is one of the Premier League’s best players. The defender also won two caps for England, and if he joins West Ham this summer, he’ll make the side of David Moyes on the back better and stronger. West Ham has narrowly avoided last season’s feared drop to the Championship.
